The Gabriela Grace Endowed Memorial Scholarship

Gabriela's Grandmother, 1st recipient, Gabriela's Uncle, and Gabriela's Aunt.
The Gabriela Grace Endowed Memorial Scholarship supports students at the University of Central Florida School of Nursing who are interested in pursuing a career in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Michael and Tabitha are alumni and the scholarship will award a student $1,000 every year in perpetuity in Gabriela's name.
When a premature baby is born as a result of preterm premature rupture of membranes or other pregnancy complications they are placed and cared for in the NICU. Since NEC primarily affects premature babies, creating a scholarship for those who are interested in working in the NICU helps increase awareness around this disease and the difficulties of caring for a premature baby while also supporting those who support their families.
